It was an amazing session with the star cast of "પ્રેમ પ્રકરણ", an urban Gujarati movie, which is going to be released on 11th March.
Dr. Dilip Barad sir explained how cinema is connected with education and then with the life of people. Gaurav sir has talked about the trailer, Deeksha mam has recalled her memories of being a student of literature, Esha mam shared her views regarding Gujarati film industry and how it works, Ishani mam talked about her connection with Bhavnagar and lastly the event ended with the song by Jigardan sir and Ishani mam. The event was hosted by Riddhi Bhatt and Punit Purohit. Dhvani has presented a rap song written by her.

As the trailer suggests that the story is revolving around a love triangle and there is a comparison of teenage love (first love) with love after teenage (matured one). Along with this, the journey of a boy getting success in life.
It is necessary for academic institutes to take interest in cinema, as that reflects the society or can influence society. In the Department of English, we have papers on film studies and cultural studies and this interaction with the star cast would help students to understand the mindset of actors when they play any role in the film and how the budget is being divided through different fragments of film.
Thanks to Dilip Barad sir for his positive approach regarding the promotional event. (Generally, teachers are sceptical towards such events related films especially when it's about love)
